Frequently asked questions

How do I add films?

Go to the Discover tab to search for films and add them to your lists.

How do I reorder my ranking?

Use drag and drop directly in your list to reorder your films by hand.

What does Premium include?

Premium unlocks: smart ranking assistance, personalised recommendations, the exclusive light mode, archiving of past rankings and advanced statistics.

Is my data backed up?

Your data is saved locally on your device. It is not synced with iCloud. If you want to keep it, do not uninstall the app before exporting your data.

How do I cancel my Premium subscription?

Go to iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions to manage or cancel your CineRank subscription.

The app is not loading films

CineRank uses the TMDB API to display film content. Check your internet connection. If the problem persists, restart the app.

The app crashes on launch

Force quit the app and reopen it. If the problem persists, reinstalling from the App Store fixes most cases.

Problem with an in-app purchase

Purchases are handled by Apple. Check your connection and that you are signed in with the right Apple ID.

To help us fix a bug quickly, please include in your email:

  • Your CineRank version (shown in the app settings)
  • The iOS version you are running
  • The steps to reproduce the problem

Refunds

In-app purchases are handled exclusively by Apple. To request a refund: reportaproblem.apple.com.

Intellectual property

Every element making up the CineRank app — in particular the source code, user interfaces, icons, animations, texts and visual identity — is the exclusive property of Julien Taret-Falconetti and is protected by French copyright law (Code de la propriété intellectuelle).

Any reproduction, representation, modification, publication or adaptation of all or part of the app’s elements, by whatever means or process, is prohibited without the publisher’s prior written authorisation.

Personal data

The app collects no personal data without explicit consent. Data stays stored locally on your device. Film content is enriched through the TMDB (The Movie Database) API.

Governing law and jurisdiction

This legal notice is governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and after an attempt at amicable settlement, the competent French courts shall have sole jurisdiction.

Our commitment

CineRank is built with your privacy in mind. The app collects, stores and transmits no personal data to our servers. All of your data stays on your device.

Data collected

App data

All data created in CineRank (rankings, lists, scores) is stored exclusively and locally on your device. It is not synced with iCloud, nor sent to our servers. Julien Taret-Falconetti has no access to it.

Internet connection and third-party services

CineRank uses the TMDB (The Movie Database) API to access film content. Some technical data may be collected by TMDB independently, in line with their own privacy policy.

In-app purchases

In-app purchases (Premium access) are handled exclusively by Apple through the App Store. No payment data is collected or processed by the publisher.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data to third parties
  • We do not use your data for advertising
  • We have no access to your rankings or lists
  • We install no third-party trackers in the app

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access — obtain a copy of the data concerning you
  • Right of rectification — correct inaccurate data
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Right to object — object to processing

Premium features

Premium access unlocks the following features:

Prices

Prices are shown in euros (€) or in the local currency, all taxes included. CineRank offers lifetime access through a one-off purchase. The applicable price is the one shown in the App Store at the time of purchase.

Payment

All purchases are handled exclusively through Apple’s App Store (Apple In-App Purchase). The publisher neither collects nor stores any payment data.

Subscription and renewal

Where a subscription is offered, it renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Management and cancellation take place in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

Right of withdrawal

Under article L.221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content supplied immediately after purchase, once the user has expressly consented to immediate delivery.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled exclusively by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. The publisher has no technical means of issuing refunds directly.

Liability

The publisher cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from use of the app.

Governing law
